Day 4 of 30 Tiny Moments

So I was sewing in my room when I glanced over and saw this....my tiny moment...

My Dad. He passed away almost 9 years ago from Melanoma skin cancer. He never got to see my children. I got pregnant with Aidan about 8 months after he died. I miss him so much and think about him EVERY day. I keep those pictures right beside me on my sewing table so he can watch over me and I can see him often.

So, what was I doing in my sewing room? Well, I'll show you...

New jammies for the girls made from vintage pillowcases...

An appliqued shirt for Lilianne...

I've been wanting to try this forever and unless I did it wrong I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was! So I got busy on one for Sarah...

I think all but one of those applique fabrics were from my bundle of scraps Fiona sent me! Thanks again Fiona!!!

I love your vintage pillowcase nighties. What pattern did you use for the nighties? And where do you find your vintage pillowcases? I would love to do something like this for Chloe this spring. They are so cute!!!

Love your creations! And your Dad was such a handsome man. Melanoma is terrible, isn't it? I worked for a surgeon and it was heartbreaking when the biopsies came back as melanoma and we had to call the patient to come back in to speak with the doctor.

Nice pictures of your Dad. My parents died of cancer, too, and never knew my children.

The jammies and shirts are adorable. You are so clever!

Happy Valentines Day!
